Obverse description The obverse features the crowned White Eagle of Poland, the national emblem, rendered in high relief at the centre of the field. The eagle is depicted with wings spread, head turned to the right, and talons extended, in the traditional heraldic style characteristic of the Polish series. The circular legend RZECZPOSPOLITA POLSKA arcs along the upper periphery, flanked by decorative dot motifs, with the date 2009 divided on either side of the eagle below. The denomination ZŁ 2 ZŁ is inscribed in bold characters at the lower portion of the field, with the mint mark of the Mint of Poland (MW) appearing beneath the eagle's tail feathers.
