Obverse description The crowned Polish eagle — the national emblem of the Republic of Poland — is depicted in the upper central field, rendered in fine relief with outspread wings and head turned to the right. Below the eagle, in the lower field, a stylised representation of a fortified stone gateway or castle wall with a vaulted arch is incised, referencing medieval architecture. The legend 'RZECZPOSPOLITA POLSKA' curves along the upper periphery, with the date '2006' to the right and the mint mark 'mw' beneath the eagle. The denomination '2 ZŁ' appears to the lower right of the eagle in bold numerals.
