| Beschrijving keerzijde | A Polish glassblower craftsman is depicted in three-quarter view at the left, wearing a cap and apron, leaning forward over a workbench with tools in hand. To the lower right, glassblowing equipment including a blowpipe and molten glass vessel with stylized flames is shown in relief. The commemorative inscription occupies the right field in five horizontal lines. The overall composition references the Polish craftsmen among the earliest settlers at Jamestown, Virginia, in 1608. |

This coin belongs to Poland's long-running Nordic gold 2-złote GN series, launched in 1995 as a circulating commemorative program — unusual in that these were genuinely intended for circulation rather than collector packaging, though most were immediately hoarded. The series eventually ran to hundreds of types, and the Polish diaspora subseries documenting emigrant communities worldwide reflects a deliberate state effort in the 2000s to formally acknowledge Poles who left during the partition era, interwar poverty, and post-WWII displacement.
Polish settlement in North America predates American independence — Jamestown counted Polish craftsmen among its early colonists in 1608.
