正面描述 The obverse features a relief map of Poland occupying the central field, with the Polish crowned eagle — the national emblem — superimposed at the centre, its wings spread and head turned to the right. The denomination '2 ZŁ' appears in the lower portion of the field. The circular legend 'RZECZPOSPOLITA POLSKA' arcs along the upper periphery, with the date '2004' inscribed to the right, and the mint mark 'MW' positioned near the lower left of the eagle.

附加信息

Poland's ongoing "Polish Cities and Regions" Nordic gold series, of which this Łódź voivodeship piece is part, was launched in 1995 and eventually ran to hundreds of types — making it one of the most ambitious regional commemorative programs undertaken by any European central bank in the post-communist period. Łódź itself built its industrial identity almost entirely on textile manufacturing through the 19th century, drawing migrant labor from across partitioned Poland under Russian rule, which gave the city an unusually mixed Polish, Jewish, and German population before the Second World War reduced that entirely.
