Obverse description Central device depicts the Polish state emblem: a crowned white eagle displayed with wings spread, rendered in high relief with finely detailed feathering and talons. The eagle faces dexter and bears a crown above its head. The circular legend RZECZPOSPOLITA POLSKA arcs around the upper periphery, while the date 1936 appears in the lower field beneath the eagle, flanked by decorative dot stops.

Reverse description A large full-rigged sailing ship, rendered in fine detail with billowing sails set on multiple masts, is depicted sailing to the left across a stylized open sea with wave lines visible beneath the hull. The vessel commemorates the development of the Polish port of Gdynia on the Baltic coast. The denomination 2 ZŁOTE appears in the lower exergual area, flanked symmetrically by the numeral 2 on each side. The engraver's initial J appears discreetly in the lower left field near the waterline.
