Obverse description The obverse features the crowned Polish White Eagle, the national emblem of Poland, rendered in high relief at the center of the field with wings spread and talons displayed. The legend RZECZPOSPOLITA POLSKA arcs along the upper periphery in Latin script. The date 1999 is divided on either side of the eagle's lower body, with the mint mark of the Mint of Poland (MW) appearing beneath the eagle. The denomination 2 ZŁ is inscribed in the lower field, flanked by the currency abbreviation ZŁ on each side, with a decorative row of small dots forming an inner border around the lower half of the coin.
