正面描述 The Polish state emblem, a crowned white eagle with spread wings and outstretched talons, occupies the central field. Flanking the eagle at lower left and right are stylized representations of large feathers or wings rendered in low relief. The circular legend RZECZPOSPOLITA POLSKA arcs along the upper rim, while the date 2005 appears in the lower field beneath the eagle. The denomination, expressed as ZŁ 2 ZŁ, is inscribed at the bottom of the field below the date, with the mint mark of the Mint of Poland (MW) visible as a small mark beneath the eagle.

附加信息

The Eagle-owl coin is part of NBP's long-running Animals of the World series, which launched in 1999 and has become one of the more systematically collected Polish circulation commemorative programs. These Nordic gold pieces were issued for face value through normal banking channels, which means well-used examples do exist despite collector demand keeping most off the streets.

The Eurasian eagle-owl was effectively extirpated from large portions of Poland by the mid-20th century due to persecution and habitat loss, with breeding populations only recovering after legal protection in 1952.
