| Obverse description | Armoured bust of Grand Master Manuel Pinto de Fonseca facing left, wearing a long flowing wig with elaborate curls cascading over the shoulder, the armour ornamented with decorative detailing at the gorget. The legend encircles the effigy reading F . EMMANVEL PINTO M.M., with a small cross visible in the left field. The portrait is rendered in a refined Baroque style typical of mid-eighteenth century Maltese coinage. |
