Obverse description Green guilloche on yellow underprint. A central vignette enclosed within an ornate rectangular frame bears the large Chinese denomination character 貳圓 (Two Yuan). The bank title 西北農民銀行 is printed across the top, with matching serial numbers in red at upper left and upper right. Red seal cartouches appear at lower left and lower right corners, and the imprint 甘民印 (Gansu People's Print) is present at the bottom centre.

Reverse description Printed in brown-orange. The central vignette shows a traditional Chinese temple complex set within a landscaped courtyard, flanked on either side by large numeral 2 vignettes within ornate frames. A romanised legend reading ZIBEIONUNG MIN INXANG runs along the top border, with RUAN and TUNS JYNI SUGRE below the central vignette, and the year 1940 at the bottom centre. Two manuscript signatures appear across the lower portion of the note.
