Obverse description Central bimetallic disc displays the Coat of Arms of the Czech Republic, featuring a double-tailed lion rampant with a crowned eagle, rendered in detailed relief. The outer nickel silver ring bears a repeating decorative triangular pattern around the entire circumference. The circular legend 'CZECH REPUBLIC 2014' runs along the upper portion of the ring, while the inscription 'ESSAI * PATTERN * PROBE' appears along the lower arc, both in Latin script. The overall design reflects a modern fantasy issue with heraldic imagery typical of Czech numismatic tradition.

Additional information

The Prague Upheavals of June 1848 were suppressed by Austrian imperial forces under Alfred I, Prince of Windisch-Grätz, who bombarded the city after the death of his wife during street fighting — a personal loss that reportedly hardened his already unsympathetic response to the Czech national movement. The revolt was among the earliest of the 1848 European uprisings to be crushed, ending within days of its outbreak.

This commemorative is part of the Czech National Bank's long-running bimetallic series marking significant events in Czech history, issued 166 years after the events depicted.
