| 背面描述 | Bimetallic reverse featuring a brass centre within a copper-nickel ring. The centre displays the large numeral '2' in bold relief dominating the field, accompanied by the denomination legend XEROS© to the right. A secondary design element, possibly a stylised architectural or landscape motif, appears in the background of the centre field in low relief. The outer copper-nickel ring bears the same repeating stylised floral and star ornamental devices as the obverse, maintaining a consistent decorative border around the full circumference. |

Akrotiri and Dhekelia — the two Sovereign Base Areas retained by Britain following Cypriot independence in 1960 — have never operated an independent currency in practice. This 2010 pattern was struck to explore a theoretical denominational system based on the Xero, a proposed unit that never entered circulation. The SBAs use the euro in civilian areas and sterling on military installations; the Xero existed only as a design exercise.
