2 Xeros Pattern

Jethou is a privately tenanted island of roughly 18 hectares, leased from the Crown of Guernsey, and has no governmental monetary authority of its own. Pattern pieces issued under its name are the product of private fantasy or promotional numismatic ventures — not sanctioned currency. The "Xeros" denomination has no legal tender basis and no circulation history.

The bimetallic format mimics the construction of the UK's £2 coin, introduced in 1998, almost certainly to lend a sense of legitimacy to the piece.
