The entire design is enclosed within a beaded border following the coin's circumference. The relief is bold and irregular, consistent with the hand-struck coinage of Portuguese India in the mid-18th century. No legend is present on this face. |

Flanking the arms of the cross are the denomination numeral '2' and the letter 'X' (for Xerafins), while below the lower arm appears the date split across the field. The cross design follows the tradition of Portuguese colonial coinage for Portuguese India. A beaded or toothed border encircles the entire design.
