| Obverse description | Central field displays the crowned Portuguese royal arms, rendered in the characteristic rough hammered style of the Goa mint. The shield bears the quinas (five escutcheons) of Portugal within an ornate cartouche surmounted by a royal crown. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded border following the coin's circumference. The relief is bold and irregular, consistent with the hand-struck coinage of Portuguese India in the mid-18th century. No legend is present on this face. |

| Reverse description | Central field features a bold floriated cross pattée, with flared and decorated terminals, executed in high relief typical of hammered coinage of the Goa mint. Flanking the arms of the cross are the denomination numeral '2' and the letter 'X' (for Xerafins), while below the lower arm appears the date split across the field. The cross design follows the tradition of Portuguese colonial coinage for Portuguese India. A beaded or toothed border encircles the entire design. The overall strike is characteristic of the artisanal production methods employed at the Goa mint under King José I. |
