Obverse description Laureate and bearded right-facing bust of Emperor Francis Joseph I occupies the central field, rendered in high relief with finely engraved hair and sideburns in the classical imperial tradition. The emperor wears a laurel wreath tied with a ribbon, its long trailing leaves extending prominently behind the head. The surrounding legend reads FRANZ JOSEPH I · V · G · G · KAISER V · OESTERREICH, distributed around the full circumference. The mint mark 'A' for the Vienna Mint appears in the lower exergue, below the truncation. The entire design is framed by a fine beaded border.
