正面描述 The obverse is headed by the bold serif legend ESTADO DE GUAYANA across the upper portion, flanked by the word DOS at left and the numeral 2 at right within decorative frames. At lower left, the Venezuelan state coat of arms appears within an ornate shield, while at right a classical allegorical female figure stands beside a column. The central text panel states the note's value as DOS VENEZOLANOS, amortizable against twenty percent of ordinary state treasury revenues, with manuscript fields for number and series, and the place of issue indicated as Cd. Bolívar; the signatures of El Presidente and El Tesorero appear at the foot.

备注

The Estado de Guayana was one of several Venezuelan regional states that exercised brief monetary autonomy during the federalist period, issuing notes that circulated well outside the reach of Caracas. This 2 Venezolanos note from 1878 predates the consolidation of Venezuelan banking under the Banco de Venezuela by over a decade, placing it squarely in the fractured, regionally administered fiscal environment that followed the Federal War.

Pick 343 is among the rarer provincial Venezuelan issues of the period. Guayana's geographic isolation — the Orinoco effectively separated it from the country's commercial centers — meant local paper circulated under conditions that make survivors genuinely uncommon.
