Obverse description Central effigy of Nāṣer al-Dīn Shāh Qājār presented as a three-quarter bust portrait facing slightly left, wearing a distinctive Qajar military uniform with decorations and his characteristic tall lambskin Qajar crown (kolah). The portrait is rendered in fine relief typical of late nineteenth-century Iranian royal coinage and occupies the majority of the coin's field. A circular Arabic legend frames the portrait along the periphery. The overall design reflects the academic European-influenced portraiture style adopted by the Tehran Mint during this period.
