Obverse description Central device comprises a large Flaming Pearl rendered in relief, depicted as a spherical orb enveloped by radiating flames and supported by cloud scrollwork, occupying the center of the field. Four large Sino-Vietnamese characters (保大寳鑑) are arranged symmetrically in the four quadrants surrounding the central motif, reading clockwise. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded border. Two suspension holes are pierced at the top and bottom of the coin, consistent with use as a charm or amulet.

Reverse description Central field bears a Yin-Yang (Âm Dương) symbol rendered in relief, encircled by stylized small water waves and cloud formations of a distinct, non-standard artistic style. Two large Sino-Vietnamese characters (二儀) flank the central motif, one to each side, within an open field. The design is enclosed by a beaded border consistent with the obverse, and two suspension holes are pierced at the top and bottom of the piece.
