| Obverse description | Central device consisting of a large flaming pearl surrounded by radiating flames, borne aloft by an elaborate cloud and dragon-head motif in the lower field. Four large Sino-Vietnamese characters arranged in cruciform fashion around the central device read 保大寳鑑 (Bao Dai Bao Chien). The coin exhibits a beaded border encircling the entire design, and two suspension holes are pierced at the top and bottom, indicating use as a pendant or amulet. |
