Obverse description Draped bust of Simon Heinrich, Count and Noble Lord of Lippe, facing right, rendered in high relief with flowing long hair characteristic of the late Baroque period. The effigy is clothed in an elaborately draped mantle fastened at the shoulder with a decorative clasp, with fine lace cravat visible at the neck. The portrait occupies the majority of the coin's field, with the surrounding Latin legend running along the periphery between an inner circle and a beaded border.

Reverse description The quartered armorial shield of the County of Lippe, displaying roses and a star in the four quarters, surmounted by a crowned helm with elaborate Baroque mantling and a double-headed eagle displayed as crest. The date 1672 is divided to the left and right of the lower shield, with the mint-master's initials I.H. below. The Latin legend encircles the composition along the periphery between a beaded border, reading as a motto of faith and conscience.
