附加信息

Rudolf II had effectively ceded control of Hungary to his brother Matthias by 1607, and his authority over Bohemia was unraveling under pressure from Protestant estates demanding religious concessions. The Vienna mint continued producing large silver multiples throughout this political collapse — partly as diplomatic gifts, partly to fund mercenary contracts Rudolf preferred over relying on unreliable imperial levies.

Dav EC II#3001 places this among the documented double thaler strikes of the period, though the Vienna output for Rudolf's later reign is notably inconsistent in die quality and surviving population.
