| Obverse description | Bare-headed right-facing bust of Grand Duke Paul Friedrich August of Oldenburg rendered in high relief, displaying finely detailed wavy hair and side-whiskers in the Neoclassical portrait style. The truncation is clean and unadorned, with the engraver's signature ZOLLMANN incused at its base. The circular legend reads PAUL FRIEDRICH AUGUST GROSHERZOG VON OLDENBURG, distributed around the periphery within a plain inner border. The field is smooth and deeply struck, lending a medallic quality to the portrait. The coin was engraved by Friedrich Stör after a model by Zollmann. |
