Obverse description The crowned coat of arms of Lucerne on an ornate asymmetrical cartouche with elaborate scrollwork, flanked by two wild men (woodwoses) wearing foliate wreaths; the left supporter stands facing right, holding a sword in his right hand and raising a crown above the shield with his left, while the right supporter sits on a ledge, resting his head on his left hand and holding a palm frond in his right. The date 1745 appears below the shield within the scrollwork, with the engraver's initials I·B· in the lower field.
