Obverse description Crowned baroque cartouche bearing the quartered arms of Bavaria and the Palatinate with a central escutcheon depicting the imperial orb; lion's-head supports flank the crown at left and right, and the date is divided across the upper field. The Collar and Badge of the Order of the Golden Fleece is suspended from the base of the shield. The encircling Latin legend identifies the ruler as Elector and Imperial Arch-Steward.
