Reverse description Central field bears the two-line inscription DEM FLEISSE ('To Diligence') within an open wreath of oak branches tied at the base with a ribbon bow, below which crossed mining hammers symbolise the Freiberg Mining Academy. The circumferential legend K. S. BERGAKADEMIE ZU FREIBERG arcs around the upper periphery, and the date 1857 appears in the lower exergue beneath the wreath. The design is enclosed by an outer beaded border.
