Obverse description Half-length facing portraits of the two co-ruling dukes, John Casimir and John Ernest, shown face-to-face in three-quarter view, each clad in contemporary armour with ruffled collars; a small imperial orb appears above between the two figures. The portraits are rendered in high relief in a naturalistic late-Renaissance style. The circular Latin legend runs continuously around the periphery of the field.
