Reverse description The reverse depicts the Virgin Mary as Virgo Radiana, standing in full figure, nimbed and draped in flowing robes, set against a landscape background with trees and rocky terrain. She is flanked on either side by a rearing heraldic lion, each rendered in high relief in the Renaissance manner. The composition is enclosed within a plain inner border, and the continuous circular Latin legend ORA PRO NOBIS DEVM SANCTA VIRGO RADIANA encircles the entire design, invoking the intercessory prayer of the radiant Holy Virgin.
