| Beschrijving keerzijde | Full-length frontal figure of Saint Peter, patron of the cathedral chapter of Worms, depicted as a bearded apostle seated on a throne or bench, draped in flowing robes rendered with fine engraved detail. The saint holds the keys of heaven in his left hand and raises his right hand in a gesture of blessing, consistent with standard iconographic tradition for Saint Peter on German ecclesiastical coinage. The date 89 (for 1589) appears in the upper field flanking the saint's nimbus. A surrounding circular legend reads S PETRVS PATRONVS, identifying the subject as the heavenly patron of the see, with additional lettering WORM PATR and ECCLE visible in the field. |
