Obverse description Elaborately engraved eleven-fold quartered coat of arms of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel, supported on the dexter side by a wild man (Wilder Mann) holding a club, displayed within an ornate heraldic composition surmounted by five crested helmets with mantling. The date 16-25 is divided above the shield to either side of the central helm. The circular Latin legend runs along the beaded border, reading the title and name of Duke Frederick Ulrich.

Reverse description Full-length facing figure of Saint James the Apostle (St. Jacob) standing centrally, robed in pilgrim's attire, holding a pilgrim's staff in one hand and a book in the other. Above the figure, the Tetragrammaton (the name of Jehovah) in Hebrew characters radiates beams of divine light. The field is surrounded by a multi-line Latin verse inscription referencing the silver ore dedicated to Saint Jacob, with the legend distributed around the periphery within a beaded border.
