Obverse description Armored and draped bust of Elector Frederick Augustus I facing right, wearing a long curled wig characteristic of the Baroque period, with elaborately engraved plate armor and a draped mantle visible at the truncation. The effigy is rendered in high relief with fine detail in the hair and armor. The encircling Latin legend runs along the outer rim, divided by pellets and punctuation marks. The field is smooth and slightly concave, enhancing the portrait's prominence.
