Reverse description The reverse bears a ten-line Latin funerary inscription filling the central field, recording the birth of Francis II on 10 August 1547 at Ratzeburg and his death on 2 July 1619 at Lauenburg, noting a lifespan of 71 years, 10 months, and 22 days. A horizontal line separates the main inscription from a three-line exergual motto reading MORS MIHI QVIES VITA BELLVM, followed by the initials of the die-cutter. The entire composition is framed by a finely beaded inner border and a laurel wreath border near the rim.
