| Obverse description | Central device featuring an ornate baroque cartouche enclosing a quartered coat of arms, the shield displaying the heraldic arms of the Abbey of Corvey impaled with those of the Abbot Christopher of Bellinghausen. Above the shield rise three elaborately mantled helmets surmounted by their respective crests, with an ecclesiastical mitre crowning the composition. The circumferential legend in Latin runs along the coin's periphery, identifying the issuer by name and title. The overall treatment is characteristic of late seventeenth-century German ecclesiastical coinage, with bold relief and rich decorative detail throughout. |
