Obverse description Draped bust of Elector Christian II facing right, set within a beaded inner circle, with the electoral arms of Saxony displayed below the effigy. Two concentric bands of Latin legend surround the portrait: the inner legend records the birth and death dates of Christian II, while the outer legend carries his full electoral and dynastic titles. The portrait is rendered in the robust, high-relief style characteristic of early seventeenth-century Saxon coinage, with the elector shown in armour and a ruffled collar.
