Aanvullende informatie

Charles VI was crowned Holy Roman Emperor in December 1711, the same year this piece was struck — making it an accession-year issue from one of the empire's most productive Tyrolean mints. Hall in Tirol had been a major silver minting center since the fifteenth century, fed by the Schwaz mines that once supplied much of Europe's monetary silver. By 1711 those mines were well past their peak, but the Hall facility retained its prestige for large-format display coinage.

The double thaler format at this weight was as much ceremonial as monetary — these were presentation-grade strikes intended for gifting within imperial and noble circles rather than trade.
