Obverse description Central field displays an elaborately quartered coat of arms of the Duchy of Teschen, surmounted by a crowned ducal helmet with mantling. The shield bears multiple heraldic charges arranged in a complex armorial composition characteristic of Silesian princely coinage of the early seventeenth century. A circular Latin legend surrounds the arms, reading ADAMVS WENCESLAVS DVX TESCHEN, identifying the issuing duke. The entire design is contained within a beaded border. The execution reflects the vigorous but irregular style typical of hammered Silesian thalers of the period.
