Reverse description The quartered arms of the Duchy of Brunswick occupy the central field, surmounted by a ducal crown and flanked by two elaborately rendered draped supporters. A scroll banner across the upper portion of the shield bears the ducal motto NEC ASPERA TERRENT. The circumferential legend states the denomination and fineness: 2 THALER. VII EINE F. MARK. 3 1/2 GULDEN, with VEREINS MÜNZE and the date of issue completing the legend in the lower field. The entire design is enclosed within a fine beaded border.
