Obverse description Bare-headed effigy of King Ludwig I of Bavaria in right-facing profile, rendered in high relief with finely detailed wavy hair. The portrait, engraved in the neoclassical style, dominates the field. The circumferential legend reads LUDWIG I KÖNIG VON BAYERN, distributed along the inner border of a raised dentilated rim. The engraver's signature C. VOIGT appears in small capitals at the base of the truncation.
