Obverse description Bare-headed effigy of King Ludwig I of Bavaria in right-facing profile, with finely detailed wavy hair and classical neoclassical portrait style characteristic of engraver Carl Friedrich Voigt. The truncation of the neck is cleanly cut, resting at the lower center of the field. The circular legend reads LUDWIG I KOENIG VON BAYERN, distributed around the periphery, with the engraver's signature C. VOIGT inscribed in small letters below the bust truncation. The coin is bordered by a toothed (dentilated) rim.
