Beschrijving voorzijde Unadorned right-facing bust of King Frederick William III of Prussia, rendered in high relief with naturalistic detail to the hair and facial features. The king is depicted bare-headed and without military or regal insignia, consistent with the neoclassical portrait style employed at the Berlin Mint in the 1830s. The encircling legend reads FRIEDR. WILHELM III KOENIG V. PREUSSEN, separated from the portrait by a fine milled border. The mint mark A, denoting the Berlin Mint, appears in the lower field beneath the bust truncation.

Beschrijving keerzijde The elaborately mantled Prussian royal coat of arms occupies the central field, supported by an ermine-lined robe surmounted by a royal crown. The quartered shield displays the multiple heraldic components of the Hohenzollern dynasty, including the Prussian eagle, the Hohenzollern quartering, and numerous subsidiary arms of the various Prussian territories. The mantle is tied at the sides with decorative tasseled cords. The circumscribed legend ZWEI THALER VII EINE F M arcs around the upper portion of the design, while the date 1838 appears in the lower exergual area, all enclosed within a milled border.
