| Obverse description | Frontal view of the Gothic city church of Hameln with two prominent flanking towers surmounted by crosses and spires, rendered in fine architectural detail. The city arms of Hameln — displaying the characteristic interlaced rings — appear prominently within a cartouche set into the arched entrance portal at the base of the facade. The date 1617 is inscribed in the field above the portal between the two towers. A Latin circumferential legend runs around the periphery, separated from the central device by a beaded inner border. |
