| Obverse description | Central ornate shield bearing the arms of Lüneburg — a fortified city gate with towers in the lower half and a lion passant in the base — surmounted by an elaborate crested helm with scrolled mantling and a crown at the crest, all rendered in high relief. Decorative acanthus-style foliage fills the field around the achievement of arms. A continuous Latin legend runs along the outer border, reading DA PACEM DOMINE IN DIEBUS NOSTRIS QUIA NON EST ALIUS QUI PUGNET PRO NOBIS, separated by ornamental stops, within a beaded inner circle. |
