In his raised right hand he holds a sceptre resting upon his shoulder, while his left hand rests upon the hilt of his sword at his waist. The portrait is rendered in a formal Baroque style typical of mid-17th century German coinage. A Latin legend encircles the bust, recording his titles as Margrave of Brandenburg and Elector of the Holy Roman Empire. |

| Descrizione del rovescio | Large, ornately decorated multi-quartered coat of arms displaying the heraldic devices of the Hohenzollern territorial possessions, including lions, eagles, griffins, and other charges arranged across numerous fields. A central escutcheon bears the sceptre of Brandenburg. The shield is surmounted by elaborate mantling and enclosed within a circular Latin legend enumerating the Elector's many titles. The date 1645 appears within the legend at the top of the coin, and the mint-master's initials CT are placed below the shield. |
