Obverse description Armored bust of Emperor Ferdinand III facing right within an ornately beaded inner circle, wearing a lion-head pauldron on the shoulder. The imperial effigy is rendered in high relief with elaborate armor detailing characteristic of mid-17th century Habsburg portraiture. The circular legend surrounds the bust within the outer beaded border, and the date appears below the truncation in the exergue area.

Reverse description Large composite Habsburg multi-quartered coat of arms set within an elaborate baroque cartouche, surmounted by an imperial crown flanked by two rampant lions as supporters. The shield displays the numerous quartered arms of the Habsburg hereditary lands, with a small inescutcheon of Carinthia positioned at the chief. The entire armorial composition is encircled by a continuous floral and foliate decorative border, with the Latin legend running between the inner and outer beaded borders.
