Obverse description Draped bust of Grand Master Fra Martin de Redin facing right, depicted with long flowing hair in the baroque portrait style typical of mid-17th century Maltese coinage. The effigy occupies the central field, rendered in relatively high relief. A circular Latin legend surrounds the portrait, reading F. D. MARTINVS DE REDIN, with the initials F. D. at the base of the bust. The coin's edge is bordered by a prominent milled or toothed rim.
