| 正面描述 | The Portuguese royal coat of arms is depicted centrally, featuring the characteristic escutcheon of five bezants arranged in a cross pattern on a shield, surmounted by a royal crown. The shield is flanked on either side by the initials M and A in the field, representing the Malacca mint. The overall design is rendered in the hammered style typical of Portuguese colonial coinage of the period. |

Portuguese Malacca's coinage was never minted in Malacca itself. These 2 Tangas pieces were struck at Goa, the administrative and monetary hub of the Estado da India, and shipped westward for circulation in a colony the Portuguese had held since 1511 — and would lose to the VOC in January 1641. The placement of the date on the reverse rather than the obverse distinguishes Gomes F3 19 and F3 20 as a specific positional variety within Filipe III's Malaccan issues, a detail that has caused misattribution in older catalogs.
