| Opmerkingen |
The Duchy of Warsaw was a French satellite state created by Napoleon after the Treaties of Tilsit in 1807, and its paper currency reflected that political dependency directly — the monetary system was organized around the złoty and grosz, but this note is denominated in talary, a unit that carried weight with a population still mentally anchored to pre-partition coinage. Issuing paper in a denomination tied to familiar silver was a calculated decision to encourage acceptance in a territory where trust in state institutions was fragile at best.
The 1810 series is among the earliest paper money issued under any Polish administrative authority in the modern period. Pick lists this as P#A13, the "A" prefix indicating the note sits outside the main confirmed sequence — documentation on exact print runs and survival rates remains incomplete.
