| Reverse description | The reverse presents a finely detailed depiction of a seahorse in upright posture at centre, its curled tail and segmented body rendered with naturalistic precision against a stylised underwater background of flowing seaweed and circular bubble motifs. A circular inner border frames the marine scene, while the left portion of the field is decorated with a geometric crosshatch pattern suggestive of scales or traditional Pacific tapa cloth design. The legend 1 OZ 999 SILVER is inscribed along the upper arc and SEAHORSE along the right arc, all within a beaded outer border. |

| Additional information |
Samoa's bullion and collector silver program has leaned heavily on marine-themed issues since the 2010s, targeting the Pacific rim collector market where such subjects carry obvious regional resonance. The seahorse series in particular was produced by the Mint of Poland on behalf of the Central Bank, part of a broader wave of sub-$50 face-value silver issues that Samoa — like Niue, Palau, and Tuvalu — licences out to European mints for global distribution.
The face value is nominal; no 2 Tala coin ever meaningfully circulated in Apia.
