Beschrijving voorzijde The obverse features the coat of arms of Samoa prominently centered in the field, depicting a quartered shield bearing a palm tree in the upper half and five southern cross stars in the lower half, flanked by two olive branches and surmounted by a cross. A scroll below the shield bears the national motto FA'AVAE I LE ATUA SAMOA. The legend SAMOA 2021 arcs above the arms, while the denomination 2 TALA appears in the lower field. The entire design is framed by a decorative border of alternating triangular motifs referencing traditional Samoan tapa patterns.

Aanvullende informatie

Samoa's Central Bank has issued a long-running series of Pacific Mermaid coins that have become consistent performers in the Pacific-themed bullion and collector market — this 2021 issue continues that series. Beyond the novelty format, the pieces are struck under Samoan authority but produced and distributed through European wholesale channels, a common arrangement for small Pacific island nations whose mints lack domestic striking facilities.
