Obverse description Orange and black note with a central intaglio vignette of a seated allegorical female figure resting beside a chest, with sailing ships on the sea in the background. Large guilloche numerals '2' appear at left and right flanking the central vignette, with the bank title 'BANCO DEL ECUADOR' across the top in bold letterpress. The date 'Guayaquil, Enero 2 de 1911' and denomination legend 'VALE DOS SUCRES' appear at the lower centre, with 'DOS 2 DOS' repeated along the bottom margin and capital and company annotations at upper left and right.

Reverse description Uniface blue reverse dominated by an elaborate engine-turned guilloche pattern composed of interlocking rosettes and geometric lathe-work filling the entire field. The large numeral '2' appears in intaglio at both left and right within the guilloche framework, while the three-line inscription 'BANCO DEL ECUADOR GUAYAQUIL' is centred in a cartouche at the middle of the design. The imprint 'American Bank Note Co. New York' runs along the lower margin.
