| 正面描述 | Within a raised circular border occupying the central field of the square klippe flan, the denomination is indicated by the Roman numeral 'II' above a large Gothic letter 'S' (abbreviation for Stuivers), with the date '1575' inscribed below. The design is stark and utilitarian, consistent with the emergency coinage produced during the Spanish siege, with no additional decorative elements or legend surrounding the inner circle. |

Schoonhoven's tin stuivers of 1575 are siege coinage, struck during the early and most desperate phase of the Dutch Revolt when Spanish forces under Requesens had effectively severed normal monetary supply to much of Holland. Tin was the material of last resort — no silver was accessible in sufficient quantity — and civic authorities improvised with whatever metal could be sourced locally.
Schoonhoven, a small walled town on the Lek, was particularly exposed during this period. The 1575 issues are among the most thinly documented of all Holland siege types, which is itself telling.
